English-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Jerome Opoku is in line for a contract extension at Fulham as a reward for his fine displays in the past year.

According to information gathered, the contract of the youngster was due to expire in June but was allowed to run as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

With the 2019/2020 football season now over, Fulham has decided to offer the defender a new contract after assessing his performance.

Reports picked up from England has revealed that the English Premier League newcomers want to tie Jerome Opoku to a new contract to ensure they have depth in their squad for the next football season.

In the 2019/2020 football season, the 21-year-old was sent out on loan to League 1 outfit Accrington. During his stay, he steadily developed after providing 3 assists in 21 appearances.

The budding left-back still has a lot of room to learn and is expected to develop in the new few years.
