Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo made his Celta Vigo debut in a 1-0 win over Valencia as they recorded their first win of the 2019/20 La Liga season on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was named in the starting XI after being left on the bench in the opener against Real Madrid as they lost 4-1.

Aidoo put an assured performance in his first game for the Spanish side absolutely excellent as he was rock solid at the back and prevented the visitors from scoring.

He made 61 passes (with 98% pass accuracy), six clearances, as well as won possession in the final third two times.

Following his convincing display, the Ghanaian youngster will be expected to start in their next game against Sevilla.

He joined the La Liga side on a five-year-old deal from Belgian club KRC Genk in the summer transfer window.

Aidoo was a member of the Black Stars squad at this year's Africa Cup of Nations which was staged in Egypt.
