Ghanaian defender Joseph Attamah shines as Istanbul Basaksehir beat Adana Demirsporin in Turkish Cup

Ghanaian defender Joseph Attamah was named in Basaksehir starting line up after three games as they beat Adana Demirspor 2-0 in the second leg of the Turkish Cup on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old has not featured for the Istanbul-based outfit since his impressive display in their 1-1 draw with the same side in the first leg of the Cup clash.

The former Tema Youth defender was an unused substitute in their 1-0 win against Ankaragucu as well as the 1-1 stalemate with Galatasaray last week.

However, Attamah returned to the starting XI in the second leg clash and played the full throttle as first-half goals from Alexandru Epureanu and Kerim Frei ensured the Turkish side won 3-1 on aggregate and advance to the next round of the competition.

He has featured in four games for the club so far this term.

Joseph played in the Turkey 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring one goal. During the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey where he was scouted by some agents who represent Adana Demirspor. They then signed him in 2014.

He joined Istanbul Basaksehir on a four deal from second-tier side Adana Demirspor where he made 33 league appearances and scored three goals to send them to the promotional play-offs final.
