England-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Josh Acheampong scored a consolation goal for the Chelsea U18 side on Tuesday night when the Blues lost 2-1 to Manchester United U18s in the Premier League U18 national final.

The prodigy started for his team as the right-back and hoped to clinch the title at the end of the contest.

In a game played at Stamford Bridge, the Manchester United U18 team scored first through a strike from Ethan Wheatley in the 21st minute.

That goal separated the two teams at halftime before a Josh Acheampong equalizer in the 47th minute restored parity to the game to give Chelsea a chance of a comeback.

Unfortunately, for the Blues, the team could not keep up with the opponent as the Manchester United U18 side netted a winning goal through Ethan Williams in the 54th minute.

The win means Josh Acheampong and his teammates missed out on winning this season’s Premier League U18 national cup.

The Manchester United U18 team are champions of the campaign.
