Germany-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Stephan Kofi Ambrosius has agreed to a new contract with Hamburg SV that will keep him for the new few years, information reaching footballghana.com has confirmed.

As reportedly earlier this week, the club and the representatives of the player have been in talks for the last couple of months over a contract extension deal.

Although negotiations could not proceed smoothly as expected, a deal has finally been reached.

According to information gathered from German Newspaper Bild, Stephan Ambrosius has agreed to a new deal and is set to sign a three-year contract extension with Hamburg SV.

Although the news cools down interest from a number of top clubs looking to secure his services, it is understood that a move could still happen next summer.

For now, Stephan Ambrosius is thought to be happy at Hamburg SV and is focused on helping the team gain promotion from the German lower-tier league to the Bundesliga at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
