German-born Ghanaian defender Stephan Ambrosius has set sights on staying at his current club Hamburg amid Leeds United and Celtic transfer link.

The 21-year-old is out of contract with the 2.Bundesliga side in the summer and could leave the club for free next summer.

Ambrosius has been linked with a move to Leeds United and Celtic, however, speaking to BILD, he suggested his long-term plan was to remain at the Volksparkstadion long into the future.

"My advisor is in close contact with the association. As a native of Hamburg, it’s best to play for HS," Ambrosius told BILD earlier this week.

"My dream is to get promoted with HSV. Everyone in the club knows that we should remain humble and always give 100 percent. If we can do that, we will be so strong that nothing should be able to stop it."

The highly-rated defender broke into the Hamburg first-team last season and has since been a key cog of the team.

He has made 11 appearances for Hamburg so far this season.
