Ghanaian duo of Kasim Nuhu Adams and Emmanuel Essiam were unable to help FC Basel advance to the UEFA Europa League finals when his team failed to hold onto their first leg win.
Kasim Nuhu was handed a starting role and lasted the entire duration whiles his compatriot missed out in the encounter on Thursday night.
The Swiss outfit suffered a 3-1 defeat to Fiorentina in the second leg at the St. Jakob-Park after extra-time. Before the reverse clash, Basel had inflicted a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in Italy.
Having failed to hold onto their win in the first leg, Basel were unable to progress to the finals of the Conference League.
The Serie A outfit progressed to the finals, 4-3 on aggregate and will face English side West Ham United on June 7, 2023.
Kasim Nuhu, who is on loan from Hoffenheim has been impressive for Basel this season.
Meanwhile, Essiam, is gradually shaping himself into the FC Basel team after making his debut in February.
