Ghanaian football is a model for Africa - George Weah

Football legend, George Weah has said, Ghana is a model for the game in Africa urging other countries to learn from the nation's exploits.

Speaking on Starr Chat, he said the country always qualify for international competitions and also has solid support from government.

"Some governments do not support their national teams and need to learn from Ghana", he stated.

The Ghana Football Association(GFA) he said, has performed very well over the years and must be commended.

"To have your team qualify for international competitions all the time and players are very happy means everything is going on well", he stated.

He also believes that the FA boss, Kwesi Nyantekyi has done a great job over the years as many countries would wish to go to the World Cup the number of times Ghana did.

On captain Asamoah Gyan he said, he is a nice and resilient player with good leadership skills.

"Despite criticisms, Gyan makes sure he gets on the pitch, do his job and carry on with his life."

Aside football he said, Ghana has one of the greatest boxers in Azumah Nelson.

Weah is in the country for some political purposes as he hopes to become the President of Liberia.
