Ghanaian forward Benjamin Bernard Boateng scores in Al Ittihad’s win over Al-Masry in Egypt

Ghanaian forward Benjamin Bernard Boateng played a pivotal role in Al Ittihad Alexandra's thrilling 3-2 victory over Al-Masry in the Egyptian Premier League.

The former Elmina Sharks attacker started and played 84 minutes, scoring a crucial equalizer in the week 17 clash at the Borg Al Arab Stadium in Alexandra.

The match began with an own goal by El Mohamady, giving Al Ittihad an early lead.

Although Mabululu's goal in the 15th minute was disallowed by VAR, Al-Masry responded in the 54th minute with Ben Youssef leveling the score. Ghiles Guenaoui then gave Al-Masry the lead in the 61st minute, assisted by Mido Gaber.

However, the game took a dramatic turn when Al-Masry's Salah Mohsen was sent off in the 68th minute.

Seizing the opportunity, Boateng scored the equalizer in the 74th minute, bringing Al Ittihad back into the game.

The comeback was complete when Mabululu scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 90+1 minute, securing a hard-fought victory for Al Ittihad.
