Ghanaian forward Dauda Mohammed was given the marching orders on Sunday when Tenerife defeated Burgos CF in the Spanish second-tier.

The former Anderlecht attacker accumulated yellow cards and was sent off before the half time break.

Despite being reduced to ten-men, Tenerife managed to secure maximum points with a 2-1 win at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez Lopéz.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

Tenerife opened the scoring after half time break through Roberto Lopez. Who hit the back of the net in the 64th minute before Enric Gallego sealed victory for the host, five minutes later.

The visitors pulled one back through Curro Sánchez in the 77th minute as the game ended 2-1 in favour of Tenerife.

Duada Mohammed joined the Spanish club in the just ended summer transfer window after ending his stay with Anderlecht. He penned a three-year deal keeping him at the club until 2026.

The former Kotoko striker is yet to open his scoring account for Tenerife after 8 appearances.
