Ghanaian forward Ernest Asante scores twice as Omonia Nicosia beat Anorthosis

Ghanaian forward Ernest Asante bagged a brace for Omonia Nicosia in their 3-0 win over Anorthosis in Cyprus on Tuesday night.

Asante put up an incredible performance as he helped his side cruise to a comfortable victory.

The former FC Nordsjaelland forward gave Omonia Nicosia an early lead in the 5th minute of the game before Fotis Papoulis made it 2-0 in the 27th minute as the hosts went into the break with a two goal lead.

After the recess, the Ghanaian hit his brace in the 48th minute to hand his side all three points.

The 32-year-old was replaced in the 65th by Eric Bautheac after he picked a caution before half time.

The win lifts Omonia Nicosia to 3rd on the league table with 29 points after 15 games played thus far.

Asante has made 13 league appearances and scored four goals for his club this term.
