Ghanaian forward Kingsley Asante Ofori's goal not enough as SJK Akatemia lose to Pepo in Finnish Cup final

Young prolific forward Kingsley Asante Ofori was on target for SJK Akatemia when lost 3-2 to Pepo Lappeenranta in the Finnish cup final match on Saturday.

Ofori have Akatemia the breakthrough as early as the 7th minute of the game to establish a footing on the home ground of their opponents.

The mercurial winger picked a ball close on the left side of the centre Circle, drove through the middle, whiles managing to fend off goons of defenders and midfielders to strike the ball into the right top corner.

But Pepo fought back to overturn the deficit in the 26th and 48th minute through Nikke Veikkanen who scored a brace. The home side extended their lead to 3-1 after Samu Suoraniemi.

Akatemia had hopes of pushing the game to extra time when Kaarlo Rintamäki scored in the 90th minute. But Pepo held firm to complete the game as winners of the League Cup.

Kingsley Asante Ofori is the highest scorer with 15 goals in 20 matches in Group C of the Finnish Kokkone league.
