Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku hits target as Peterborough United suffer defeat against Derby County in England

Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku registered his name on the scoresheet for Peterborough United in their defeat against Derby County on Saturday.

The English-born Ghanaian attacker scored one his of his side consolation goals when they succumbed to a 4-2 defeat in the English League One.

Poku produced an impressive performance despite his outfit defeat in the week five fixture of the English second-tier league.

Peterborough shot into the lead in the 23rd minute mark through Jamaican interantional Jonson Clarke-Harris pass but Martyn Waghorn scored six minutes later to draw the visitors level.

Eiran Cashin scored to put Derby County in the lead after founding the back of the net in the 37th minute following an assist from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

Waghorn scored twice in the last five minutes of the first half to complete his hat-trick and also increased the advantage for Derby with goals in the 40th and 45th minutes.

Poku reduced the deficit for Peterborough on the stroke of full-time.

The 22-year-old English-born Ghanaian has two goals and two assists in five appearances for Peterborough in the League One this season.
