Ghanaian forward Maxwell Boakye has set sights on scoring more goals to become the highest scorer in a season in the Mozambique top-flight

The former Hearts of Oak and Karela United striker has been in a rich vein of form since joining Ferroviario de Maputo in the summer.

He played an instrumental in his sides triumph in the Mozambique Cup, defeating Ferroviario de Beira in the final.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the enterprising striker asserted he wants to set goal scoring record in the Mozambique league.

“I want to set records in the game worldwide because not everyone understands the name Maxwell Boakye. At the moment, I want to score more goals and break the highest goal scorer record in the Mozambique league”

“I want to equal the player with the highest goal margin in a season (18) and then set a new record in the Mozambique league” he said.

The forward will feature in the CAF Confederations Cup next season after helping his side to win the Mozambique Cup.

Boakye who joined the Mozambique outfit in the summer window has scored ten goals and provided five assists in 19 games so far.

The former Karela United striker also has five man of the match awards, which is a clear indication of his outstanding performance in Mozambique.
