Ghanaian forward Tariqe Fosu reveals why he joined Brentford

Ghanaian forward Tariqe Fosu has opened up on why he joined Brentford in the winter transfer window on the deadline day.

Fosu was one of the key players at Oxford United, where he made 33 appearances and scored 10 goals times for the U's.

He joined English Championship side Brentford on a three-and-a-half-year contract, with the option of a further year for an undisclosed fee.

"I’ve seen a lot of Brentford’s games, I like the way they play, their philosophy and the way they develop young players – the league position wasn’t a factor, it was the philosophy, the style of play and the manger that sold it to me," Fosu told Surrey Comet

"The Oxford boys are playing well, and it was gutting to leave, but at the same time, it’s football.

"We (Brentford) are in a good position and my aim is to just play a part. It’s been a crazy last few days but I’m excited by the new challenge."

He spent two years at Charlton Athletic before joining Oxford last summer.

Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor paid a visit to the Brentford forward in England to have a closer look at him and also have some discussions with the 24-year-old.
