Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah set to receive €1m per season after joining Matalyaspor

Ghana international Afriyie Acquah is expected to receive €1 million net per season in his new contract with Turkish club Matalyaspor. 

Acquah joined the Matalyaspor on a two-year deal with the option to extend for one year after passing his mandatory medicals and completing the formalities.

The club offered a million euros net per season until June 2021 and the 27-year-old couldn't turn down the offer.

He joined the Blood and Gold outfit as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Empoli.

He will be playing outside Italy for the second time in his career following an unsuccessful spell in Germany with TSG Hoffenheim as he never played a competitive match.

He returned to Italy to join Parma on loan after six months to relaunch his career.

He has previously played for Sampdoria, Torino, and Empoli.

He was a part of the Black Stars squad that represented the country at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which staged in Egypt.

Acquah has featured 36 times for the senior national team since making his debut in 2012
