Ghana international Alfred Duncan registered two assists for US Sassuolo as they thumped Sampdoria 4-1 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old was given the nod to start after being an unused substitute in the Neroverdi’s opening day 2-1 defeat to Torino at the Mapei Stadium.
Despite a slow start to the game, Sassuolo took the lead courtesy Domenico Berardi strike in the 29th minute of the game.
Seven minutes later, Berardi bagged a brace as he was left unmarked to nod in Alfred Ducan’s cross thanks to some dismal Sampdoria defending.
Beradi completed his hattrick with hit a left-foot screamer from distance that curled into the far bottom corner as the hosts finished the first half with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Ivorian attacker Hamed Traore scored the fourth for the home side with just two minutes after recess.
Fabio Quagliarella scored a consolation for Sampdoria in the 67th minute as the hosts picked their first maximum points of the campaign with a 4-1 win.
Duncan was substituted Luca Mazzitelli in the 79th minute of the game.
