Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei has completed a notable move in his professional career, officially joining Finnish club HJK.

The transfer comes following the finalization of a 2+1 year contract agreement between Sarpei and HJK. Renowned for his defensive prowess, the 25-year-old Sarpei arrives at HJK after a substantial tenure with German outfit Ingolstadt, where he developed his skills across various tiers of German football since his inception into the game at the age of 18.

Sarpei's suitability for the defensive midfield role was extensively evaluated during a comprehensive week and a half trial period with HJK, during which he participated in rigorous training sessions and showcased his abilities in two Liigacup encounters.

HJK's sports director Vesa Mäki hailed Nunoo Sarpei's midfield prowess.

"Hans brings balance to the midfield: Physicality to our pressing play and quality to break the lines both by passing and passing. And of course his experience in Germany's big leagues will be useful for us in the European games, for example," he said.

HJK coach Ferran Sibila praised Nuno Sarpei's performance in training.

"He looked good in training already, but we believe that we haven't seen even close to the best of what he can offer," he said.

Hans Nunoo Sarpei will wear jersey number 14.
