Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Cofie shines as Sivasspor beat Fenerbahce in Turkey Super Lig

Ghana's midfielder Isaac Cofie left it all on the pitch yesterday evening when Sivasspor travelled to 3rd place Fenerbahce in the Turkey Super Lig.

Cofie was the glue that linked the defence to the attack with a tremendous work rate and an ambitious desire to push forward with incisive passes into attack.

Sivasspor took the lead in additional minutes before the break through Nigeria forward Olarenwaju Kayode.

The visitors extended their advantage three minutes into the second half after Hakan Arslan headed in a cross from Max Gradel.  The home side pulled one back at the death in the 94th minute.

Sivasspor manager, Riza Calimbay, had intentionally left Isaac Cofie on the bench in their goalless game against Basaksehir last Saturday, as part of plans towards facing Fenerbahce. This is testament to how important the Ghanaian is to the team.

Cofie played 90 minutes for the visitors as they secured the three maximum points. The 29 year- old has been involved in 24 league matches this season. Sivasspor have now moved up to fifth on the league table with 62 points.
