Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp provided a silver lining in Crystal Palace's 4-2 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Schlupp, who came on as a substitute in the 64th minute, replaced Eberechi Eze and made an immediate impact by securing an assist for Palace's second goal.

The match started on a high note for Palace, with John Stones gifting possession to the hosts, leading to a quick goal by Jean Philippe Mateta in the 3rd minute. However, Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne leveled the score in the 13th minute, pouncing on a rebound from a cross by Jack Grealish.

The visitors took the lead for the first time in the 47th minute through Rico Lewis, but Manchester City's dominance continued. Erling Haaland scored from close range in the 66th minute, and De Bruyne netted his second goal in the 70th minute, making it 4-1.

Despite the defeat, Schlupp's assist for Odsonne Edouard's goal in the 86th minute was a positive for Palace. Fellow Ghanaian Jordan Ayew also started the game for Palace and lasted 74 minutes.

Schlupp has made 23 appearances, scored once, and assisted two in the Premier League this season.
