Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye scores in Halmstads BK's win over Degerfors IF

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye was on target for Halmstads BK in their 2-0 away win over leaders Degerfors IF in the Swedish Superettan on Saturday.

The 27-year-old lasted the entire duration of the game as the visitors sealed all three points at the Stora Valla Stadium.

Boakye opened the scoring for Halmstads BK with a sublime strike in the 19th minute of the game.

After the break, Andreas Johansson doubled the visitors' advantage in the 73rd minute as they cruise to a comfortable victory.

The win moved Halmstads BK to second on the league table with 15 points, same points as the leaders after 15 matches played thus far.

His compatriot Joseph Baffo also featured but Sadat Karim was an unused substitute.

Boakye has now made 11 league appearances and scored three goals for Halmstads BK this season.
