Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey elated with Atlético Madrid's win over Eibar

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed his delight after scoring the winner for Atlético Madrid in their 3-2 win over Eibar in La Liga on Sunday. 

The 25-year-old came off the bench to score the match-winner for the Rojiblancos as they defeated Eibar in a five-goal thriller at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium to go top of the league table.

“We suffered at the beginning of the match, but the team never stopped believing. After the second goal, everything went great for us,” Partey said after the game.

The visitors got a 2-0 lead through Charles and Anaitz Arbilla in the 7th and 19th minute respectively before Joao Felix and Vitolo levelled for Atlético Madrid

Partey, who replaced Portugal international Joao Felix in the 84th minute secured all the needed points for Atletico Madrid with his goal in the dying embers of the game.

He has made three appearances for Atlético Madrid and scored once so far this season.

The win helps Atlético Madrid maintain their 100% start to the season.
