Atlético Madrid will look to bounce back from their defeat at Real Sociedad when they face Juventus on Wednesday with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey at Diego Simeone's disposal for the team' Champions League opener.

The 26-year-old was rested against the Basques, as he is considered a vital part of Los Rojiblancos' midfield.

His absence from last season's second leg defeat against Juventus due to suspension was seen as one of the reasons that led to Atlético's elimination.

The Ghanaian is ahead of Marcos Llorente in Diego Simeone's pecking order, with the latter failing to convince with his performance at the Reale Arena on Saturday.

He has made three appearances and scored one goal for Atlético Madrid so far in the 2019/20 season.
