Ghanaian players abroad wrap: Thomas Partey and Emmanuel Gyasi score as Antoine Semenyo assists

Ghanaian players across the top five leagues in Europe were again massively involved for their teams as they wrapped up week two of the new season.

Thomas Partey scored his first goal of the season for Arsenal, the same for Emmanuel Gyasi for Empoli, while Antoine Semenyo provided an assist for Bournemouth.

Premier League week 2

Thomas Partey scored his first goal of the season to help Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-0 and secure back-to-back wins.

Antoine Semenyo provided an assist, after scoring in the first weekend, in Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United.

Mohammed Kudus again put on a superb performance for West Ham as they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst. Jeffrey Schlupp was an unused substitute for Palace.

Jordan Ayew made his Leicester debut as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Fulham. Fatawu Issahaku played the full 90 minutes for Leicester.

Tariq Lamptey was an unused substitute for Brighton in their 2-1 win over Man United.

LaLiga round 2

Inaki Williams lasted 78 minutes for Athletic Club as they lost 2-1 to Barcelona on Saturday.

Abdul Mumin again featured for Rayo Vallecano in their goalless draw against Getafe.

Joseph Aidoo and Celta Vigo play away to Villarreal on Monday night.

Serie A round 2

Emmanuel Gyasi scored his first goal of the season for Empoli in their 2-1 win over AS Roma.

Alfred Duncan played the entire game for Venezia as they drew goalless with his former club Fiorentina.

Caleb Ekuban came off the bench to make his first appearance of the season for Genoa in their 1-0 win over Monza.

Ligue 1 round 2

Ernest Nuamah got injured after 17 minutes and was substituted as his team, Lyon, lost 2-0 to AS Monaco. Mohammed Salisu played the entire game for Monaco.

Attacker Augustine Boakye was again a second-half substitute for Saint-Etienne as they lost 2-0 to Le Havre.

Alidu Seidu was substituted after 58 minutes as his team, Rennes, lost 3-1 to Strasbourg.

Bundesliga round 1

Jeremie Frimpong played the entire game for Leverkusen in their 3-2 loss to Monchengladbach.

Jamie Leweling played the full game for Stuttgart in their 3-1 loss to Freiburg.
