Ghanaian striker Akwasi Asante scored a sensational hat-trick as Chesterfield thumped Barnet 6-0 in English Conference League on Saturday.

Asante put up an incredible performance as Town remain unbeaten in four matches under manager James Rowe.

The win takes the Blues up to 15th and leaves them just four points off the play-off positions.

The hosts took the lead through Asante with about five minutes of the first half remaining after he was set-up by Jak McCourt.

After the recess, Boden doubled their lead before Hollis made it 3-0.

A fourth goal arrived with 15 minutes to go. Asante received a ball in the area from Whelan, switched it on to his right foot and fired past the Barnet goalkeeper.

Unbelievably Asante wrapped up his hat-trick in fashionable style after he latched onto the ball out on the left and controlled the ball on the byline all before making his way into the box and effortlessly striking home for his first three-goal haul for the Spireites.

Jack McCourt put icing on the cake with a simple finish in the 89th minute.

Asante has now scored four goals in four games for Chesterfield FC so far this season.
