Ghanaian striker Boakye-Yiadom marks Gornik debut in win over Stal Mielec in Polish top-flight

Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom made his debut for Gornik Zabrze in their 2-1 win over Stal Mielec in the Ekstraklasa on Monday.

The 28-year-old climbed off the bench in the 65th minute as his side came from behind to secure a vital victory at the Ernest Pohl Stadium.

Aleksandar Kolev opened the scoring for the visitors in the 6th minute of the game.

After the recess, Przemyslaw Wisniewski and Piotr Krawczyk scored in the 64th and 93rd minutes to pick up all three points.

The win lifts Gornik to 4th on the league standings with 27 points after 17 matches played thus far.

The former Red Star Belgrade striker joined the Polish side on a free transfer in the just-ended transfer window.

His first game for the club in the Polish Cup ended in defeat against Rakow.
