Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban extends stay at Genoa until 2026 with option for additional year

Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban has committed his future to Italian club Genoa by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2026.

The official announcement was made by Genoa via their social media platforms, with the club tweeting "Eku stays" on X.

Ekuban, who started his professional career with youth teams Mantova and Chievo Verona, joined Genoa in August 2021 after leaving Turkish club Trabzonspor.

The 30-year-old striker has since become an integral part of the Genoa squad, making 29 appearances in the 2023/24 Serie A, scoring four goals, and providing three assists. Ekuban also made one appearance in the 2023/24 Coppa Italia.

Genoa signed Ekuban for an amount of €2.6 million, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.5 million. The new contract includes an option to extend for another year, giving both the club and the player flexibility for the future.
