The match started with Southend United looking to assert their dominance early on, and they had their first chance just three minutes in. Marcus Dackers squared the ball to Danny Waldron, whose fierce strike flew just over the post.

However, it was Wealdstone who took the lead in the 5th minute, thanks to a clever dink from Max Kretzschmar that found Adarkwa in the box. The English-born Ghanaian striker made no mistake, slotting the ball past Collin Andeng Ndi from close range to give the Stones an early advantage.

Southend United tried to respond to going behind, but they struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half. Wealdstone, on the other hand, looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

The second half saw Southend United come out with more purpose, and they started to create more chances. However, Wealdstone's defense held firm.

Just when it seemed like Wealdstone was going to hold on for all three points, Southend United equalized in the 90th minute. A cross from Bridge found Sandat in the box, and he made no mistake, firing the ball past the keeper to rescue a point for his side.
