Ghanaian winger David Martin Anane has been recognized for his outstanding performance in the Lithuanian A Lyga, earning a spot in Sofascore's team of the week.
Anane's impressive play on the field was highlighted by a crucial goal he scored for FK Kauno Zalgiris in their 2-2 draw against Suduva.
The game kicked off with a bang, as Suduva's Ivan Zotko headed home a corner from Žygimantas Baltrūnas in the very first minute. A scramble in the Suduva box in the 5th minute nearly resulted in an equalizer, but Giedrius Zenkevičius managed to keep the home team at bay.
The moment of magic from Anane came in the 32nd minute. The Ghanaian winger stepped up to take a free-kick and curled a beautiful effort into the top corner, leveling the score at 1-1 for FK Kauno Zalgiris.
The second half began with Suduva regaining the lead after Nidas Vosylius committed a foul in his own penalty area. Ernestas Burdzilauskas calmly converted the resulting penalty to make it 2-1 to Suduva. However, Vosylius made amends for his earlier mistake by scoring a stunning long-range effort in the 55th minute to bring FK Kauno Zalgiris level once again at 2-2.
With both teams pushing for a winner, the game remained evenly poised until the final whistle. FK Kauno Zalgiris will look to build on this hard-earned point when they face Hegelmann in their next game.
