The game picked up steam after the break at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre following a somewhat dull first half in which the Albion enjoyed the most of the opportunities and possession.

After the home team failed to clear a corner, a scramble occurred in the goalmouth, and Tommy Reid twice made close-range saves until Smith bunched the ball home in the 47th minute.

Nine minutes later, Ealing was given too much time to run at Brighton's defense and he sneaked a shot into the corner at Reid's near post, putting Brighton 2-0 down.

Albion showed their battling spirit when Baker-Boaitey rifled a long-range shot past goalie Filip Marschall shortly after the hour mark to cut the deficit in half.

Ifill nodded home from a whipped ball from Brody Peart in stoppage time to save Brighton from defeat.
