Ghanaian youngster Claud Adjapong signs for Sassuolo

Italian born Ghanaian defender Claud Adjapong has signed a five year deal with Serie A side Sassuolo.

Claud Adjapong was promoted from junior side Neroverdi where he excelled after putting up outstanding performances.

The 19 year old’s initial contract was expected to end this summer but after prolonged talks, the teenager decided to extend his deal up to the summer of 2022.

Several club’s including Italian giants Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli have been pursuing the signature of the youngster but he chose to play for Sassuolo.

Adjapong is one of the few players who went through the youth development at Sassuolo and has been able to make it to the first team.

He made 9 appearances in the league last season and scored a goal against Cagliari.

He also featured once in the Coppa Italia and played three times in Sassuolo’s Europa League campaign.
