David Oduro, the 18-year-old Ghanaian left-back, has expressed his ambitions after securing a historic move to Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

Joining on loan from Accra Lions, Oduro will train at Barcelona's famous La Masia Academy, with hopes of earning a permanent deal next summer.

Speaking to SportyTV, Oduro shared his excitement and determination. Oduro also praised Barcelona's playing style and their project.

"Leaving Ghana I will say when I get there this is the time for me to work hard this is not the time for me to sleep I have to work extra hard to be able to move to the first team. And the aim is to play the first team, Champions League, and then come back to my hometown and play for Ghana," he said.

"I love their (Barcelona) style of play I went there I witness it myself it is a good project I can't wait to get there and get started. I will be very patient because I have been patient all this while from Accra Lions to date so I will still be patient when I get there," he added.

Oduro's move comes after trials with major European clubs, including Chelsea and Bayern Munich. His transition to Barcelona marks the first time a player has moved directly from Ghana to the Catalan club.
