Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Essiam has expressed his delight after making FC Basel home debut in victory over Winterthur.

The 19-year-old came on late in the Swiss Super League clash against Winterthur as Basel won 2-0 at the St. Jakob-Park on Saturday.

Essiam was introduced in the 90th minute mark to help his outfit cruise to victory in the week 26 fixture of the Swiss top-flight.

Goals from Jean-Kevin Augustin and Bradley Fink were enough for the host to secure the three maximum points.

After the game, the Black Meteors midfielder took to social media to share his excitement after making his first appearance for Basel at the St Jakob-Park.

“Home Debut❤️💙#MirSinBasel” he tweeted.

Prior to his home debut, Essiam had made his first appearance in the Swiss Cup clash against Grasshoppers in February 2022.

Essiam played a huge role to help the Black Meteors to edge past Algeria to secure qualification to the 2023 U-23 AFCON tournament to be staged in Morocco in June this year.
