Ghanaian youngster Ethan Ampadu marks senior debut for Chelsea by making history

Welsh-born Ghanaian youngster Ethan Ampadu made his senior deiut for English giants Chelsea in the Carabao Cup as the Blues demolished Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Michy Batshuayi grabbed a hat-trick and Eden Hazard marked his first Chelsea start of the season with two assists as the Premier League champions crushed Nottingham Forest 5-1 to move into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, where they face Everton.

Ethan Ampadu came on for Spaniard Cesc Fabregas and was impressive as manager Antonio Conte field a very young squad.

The player born to a Ghanaian father becomes the first player to be born in the 2000’s to play for Blues as Antonio Conte handed youngster his debut for the Premier League champions.

The Ghanaian midfielder joined the club from Exeter City over the summer and has been fast-tracked to the first-team after winning Wales younger player of the year.

Already an Under-19 international for Wales, he was included by manager Chris Coleman in the senior Welsh squad back in May for the World Cup qualifier against Serbia.

He is also eligible to play for England, Ghana and the Republic of Ireland.
