Ghanaian youngster Francis Abu scores debut goal for Cercle Brugge in Belgium top-flight

Ghanaian youngster Abu Francis scored his debut goal for Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

The young midfielder started and lasted the lasted duration and put up an impressive show in his sides 2-2 away stalemate on Saturday evening.

The 21-year-old, who has been outstanding so far for Cercle Brugge registered his name on the scoresheet as his side come from behind twice to draw with Eupen in the matchday 27 fixture at Kehrwegstadion.

The home team shot into the lead from the spot through Belgian defender Stef Peeters after just 10 minutes.

Three minutes later, Francis Abu scored a wonderful goal to draw the visitors level after he was set up by Belgian midfielder Charles Vanhoutte.

Eupen restored their advantage moments later with a goal from Ivorian midfielder Konan Ndri before Japan forward Ayase Ueda levelled matters again six minutes to the interval.

Francis signed for Cercle in the summer from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and has since played 19 matches where has one goal and two assists to his credit.

He has played every match since the beginning of the year 2023.
