Ghana and Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong has set sights on making his UEFA Europa League debut with Scottish giants at the Round of 32 stage.

Frimpong, 19, was not included in the Hoops squad in the Europa League group stages after joining them from Manchester City in the summer.

However, after a series of impressive performances, the highly-rated right-back is eyeing his debut in the Europa League..

He scored his debut goal for Celtic in their 2-0 win over Hibernian in Scottish Premier League on Sunday.

"I was just delighted to score my first home goal," he said after the game.

"It was really good, the team played amazingly and we deserved it.

"The fans are amazing so to score in front of them was the best feeling.

"We won the final last week and I got a red card but I got over it.

"The manager told me not to worry about the sending-off and said I played well.

"It’s always good when you get the manager on side.

"I’m really excited to play in Europe — it’s going to be a good experience for me."
