FC Köln's hopes for the upcoming encounter against Hoffenheim have been dampened as Ghanaian prospect Justin Diehl remains sidelined due to health issues, as per a recent GEISSBLOG report.

Despite ongoing efforts to regain fitness, Diehl's absence persists, stemming from a flu-like infection that has plagued him since the Frankfurt match.

The 19-year-old forward was unable to participate in Thursday's training session, further underscoring the severity of his condition.

Even if Diehl were to recover in time for Sunday's fixture, the lack of training increases the challenge, rendering his involvement against TSG doubtful.

The 19-year-old offensive player showcased his skills in FC Köln's recent draw against Wolfsburg on January 27th.

In the game against Wolfsburg, Faride Alidou scored the first goal for FC Koln with a header from the centre of the box to the top left corner following a set piece situation in the 38th minute.

Justin Diehl came on in the 76th minute to replace Dejan Ljubicic.

Kevin Paredes scored the equalizer with a left footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal. Paredes goal was assisted by Joakim Mæhle.
