English-born Ghanaian forward Omari Forson who plays for Manchester United has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for September.

During the month, the 19-year-old scored in each of our three league games and in the Papa Johns Trophy loss against Bolton Wanderers.

Omari scored at Sunderland, where we eventually drew 5-5. It was his first goal of the month.

Before neatly sending his shot into the far corner, the striker made two cuts back, first on his right foot and then on his left.

On Saturday, a rasping half-volley at Leyland helped Manchester United upset Blackburn Rovers 5-2.

Forson is joined on the shortlist by Luca Barrington, Mark O'Mahony (both Brighton & Hove Albion), Alfie Dorrington (Tottenham), Harry Gardiner (Sunderland), Callum Kavanagh (Middlesbrough), Callum Marshall (West Ham United), and Tommi O'Reilly (Aston Villa).

The Premier League Football Development Panel chose the nominees after PL2 club coaches nominated the most outstanding performance by an opponent in each of their divisional matches throughout the month.
