Ghanaian youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw on target for Southampton in preseason friendly win against Bordeaux

Ghanaian sensation Sam Amo-Ameyaw was instrumental for Southampton in their preseason friendly victory over Bordeaux on Wednesday.

The English-born Ghanaian teenager was called to action when his outfit cruised to a 3-2 win over the Frecnh outfit.

Amo-Ameyaw registered his name on the scoresheet as he aim to cement his place in the Southampton team ahead of the new season.

Southampton opened the scoring after 19 minutes into the game through Tyler Dibling but Bordeaux swiftly responded with an equalizer in the 20th minute mark through Alpha Diallo.

Both teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw following an intense first half at the Nou Estadi Municipal de Les Grases.

After the break, the Ghanaian teenager found the back of the net in the 50th minute mark to restore the Premier League returnees lead in the game.

Six minutes later, Sékou Mara fired home the Saints third goal as he cemented the victory for the Premier League club.

In the final minutes of the game, Bordeaux pulled one back through Joss Marques as the game ended 3-2 for the Saints.

Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana also made an appearance in the friendly as he warms his way back into the Saints team.

Southampton will begin their season with a trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
