English-born Ghanaian youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw scored in Southampton U-21 3-3 draw with West Ham in the Premier League 2 on Friday.

The early chances of the evening came in rapid succession at Rush Green, where both teams seemed well matched despite their differing openings to the season.

With some outstanding talent inside his own half and a driving run, George Earthy generated the hosts' opening chance, which resulted in an appealing cross that Ollie Scarles could only push back across the goal.

A minute later, Amo-Ameyaw curled a low shot from the outside of the penalty box, which Jacob Knightbridge swept away at full stretch.

The Saints broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, Doyle scored from the edge of the box with a free kick.

Unfortunately, the advantage didn't last long because Earthy, who sneaked in at the far post to score a risky cross from Callum Marshall, gave West Ham the lead five minutes later.

Callum Marshall headed in from close range to make it 2-1. Saints’ pressure paid off as Amo-Ameyaw levelled the score.

Ehibhatiomhan scored for Southampton to make it 3-2. Callum Marshall scored to save West Ham from defeat.
