Former Asante Kotoko skipper Amos Frimpong has showered praise on Dreams FC despite failing to reach the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Still Believe lads Confederation Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Zamalek in the semifinals second leg played at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Zamalek progressed 3-0 on aggregate after pulsating goalless draw in the first leg played at the Cairo International Stadium.

Goals from Hamza Mathlouthi, Samson Akinyoola and Mostafa Shalaby were enough for the 2019 Champions to secure an important victory in Kumasi.

Despite expressing disappointment in the teams elimination, the former Kotoko defender has commended Dreams FC for the meaningful impact in their maiden participation.

“I’m very disappointed because I was expecting Dreams FC to reach the finals of the competition. Even though they didn’t get to the finals but we need to praise them for reaching the semifinals of this competition” He told Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com.

“They shouldn’t be discouraged. Ghanaians are proud of them for their effort because nobody gave them the dog chances to reach the semifinals. They should keep working hard and I know they can reach the finals if they get the opportunity to represent Ghana next season”

Dreams FC will now switch their attention to the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup, where they have reached the semi-final. The FA Cup holders could return to Africa if they successfully defend their title.
