Ghanaians took to social media on Saturday morning to pay tribute to Christian Atsu after news broke that he has been found dead in Hatay by his agent.
The 31-year-old was first claimed to have been located under the rubble and transferred to a hospital a few hours after the terrible tragedy, but further reports suggested that it was a mistaken identity.
As a result, members of his family and his agent Nana Sechere traveled to Turkey to join forces with his club to find him.
Despite the fact that several victims were discovered alive earlier this week, giving hope to Atsu's recovery, the former Newcastle and Chelsea winger did not survive.
