Mr. Okraku has taken over from Kwesi Nyantakyi as the new GFA boss after George Afriyie conceded defeat after two rounds of voting.

Okraku led twice in the elections after amassing 44 and 59 votes in the first and second rounds respectively.

Despite leading in both rounds, a final round vote had to be conducted to ensure Okraku had 50% plus one vote.

Speaking in an interview with footballmadeinghana after the election, Mr.Nelson urged Ghanaians to exercise patience with the new GFA president.

"George Afriyie showed maturity. It tells you maturity is in Ghana football. Ghana football won. We can all contribute and make Ghana football better.

"We should be patient with the President, because it will take time before everything will take

"Kurt has the ability, if you check his CV you will know he knows Ghana football. His experience on the past ExCo and as Dreams FC Executive Director will guide him to execute the job. I wish him and the EXCO well," he added.
