The Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence has reached a significant milestone with the installation and commissioning of its first set of ultramodern floodlights.

The event took place during a ceremony on the evening of Wednesday, 24th April, 2024.

Kurt E. S. Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), was present to receive the keys to the power plant that supplies the floodlights. He then symbolically pressed the switch, officially marking the commissioning of the floodlights.

GFA Chief of Staff Michael Osekre, Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Head of Legal Marian Serwaa Mensah accompanied President Okraku.

The President and his delegation were welcomed by Mr. David Alifoe, Deputy Director of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, who gave the President assurances on the appropriate maintenance of the recently installed floodlights.

The project was funded under the FIFA Forward Program, with the equipment installation carried out by OVI Enschede, a Dutch electrical installations firm.

The installation of the floodlights brings increased capacity and flexibility to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence. According to the GFA President, this development allows training programs to be conducted both during the day and at night. It also enables players in camp to train at night and extends refereeing and coaching training programs into the evening.

" I am indeed very happy that this dream to enhance our facility at Prampram is gradually being realized," Okraku expressed.

The newly installed floodlights illuminated a training session of the National U-17 players, which was observed by the President and his team.
