Ghana's Alfred Duncan elated after first Fiorentina goal in Serie A

Ghanaian Alfred Duncan has expressed excitement after scoring his first goal for Fiorentina in their 3-1 win over SPAL as they ended their 2019/20 Serie A season with a victory on Sunday.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring for the visitors in the 30th minute of the game - his first since joining the club on loan from Sassuolo in January.

Nine minutes later, Marco D'Alessandro equalised for SPAL After the recess, Christian Kouame fired Fiorentina ahead in the 89th minute before Pulgar wrapped up the victory for the visitors with his strike from the penalty spot in the stoppage-time.

The win helped Fiorentina secure the 10th spot with 49 points after 38 games.

"I've been looking for him for a while, a personal satisfaction that makes me very happy. I hope to start at the best next year, scoring.” Duncan told the club website. "It was important to close in the best way possible a season that has stretches has been difficult.

"We took three fundamental points because closing on the left is a very important milestone to start again next year.”

"We can and must do more, Fiorentina must aim for a better ranking than this,” he continued. “Even if seen how it went this season, the 10th-place finish was very important.

The Ghana international made 13 league appearances for Fiorentina, scored one goal, and registered one assist.
