Ghana's group opponent South Korea handed big Son Heung-min boost ahead of 2022 World Cup

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has disclosed South Korea forward Son Heung-min will be fit to feature in the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this month.

The 30-year-old suffered a fracture near his left eye during Tottenham's Champions League win over Marseille on last Tuesday and will undergo surgery.

Son's injury casted a serious doubt about his availability for South Korea first game at the World Cup against Uruguay, however, Conte has confirmed that the forward will recover in time.

"I sent him a message yesterday after the surgery and Sonny was really, really disappointed for this situation but I hope for him he will recover very well and play in the World Cup," Conte said as quoted by BBC.

"I was a player and I know the importance of playing in the World Cup."

"Tonight he was the first person to play this game, for sure he missed us. I am confident, confident that he can come back quickly and play the World Cup for South Korea."

South Korea's first game in the World Cup is against Uruguay on November 24.

Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
