Ghana international, Inaki Williams has disclosed that the target of his Athletic Bilbao side this season is to fight to finish in a position that will guarantee Uefa European inter-club competition football next season.

After finishing 8th on the Spanish La Liga standings last season, Athletic Bilbao missed out on qualification to play in the Uefa Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League.

With that disappointment, the club has decided to do better this season.

Ahead of the team’s opening match in the La Liga, Inaki Williams says he will fight to help the team to achieve that dream.

“It's something we've talked about internally and this time it's been made public. We are going to try to give a blow on the table because we want to be in Europe and I think we have a very good squad," the Ghana forward told the Spanish Press as quoted by marca.

This weekend, Athletic Bilbao will lock horns with RCD Mallorca to open the campaign in the 2022/23 La Liga season.
