Ghana’s Jacob Akrong enjoying life at Atlético Zacatepec

Ghanaian international Jacob Akrong has revealed that he is enjoying life at Atlético Zacatepec while citing that he feels at home.

The defender has been in fine form throughout the season in the Mexico lower division and helped them to reach the finals of the Vuelta.

At the end of the scheduled two legs, his club lost to Alebrijes 5-3 on aggregate and missed out on lifting the enviable trophy.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the Ghanaian shared that he is enjoying his time at Zacatepec and hopes to extend it his stay on Morelense soil.

“Thank you very much for all the support you do for us, this did not end now, there is more ahead and continue to support us because we will fight to ascend to this Zacatepec”, he Jacob Akrong said to acknowledge the fans of his club.

He continued, “Here is my house, I am always a piper," the player told Diario de Morelos”.

On losing out on the title, Akrong shared, “The team tries to get this result but there were many things. We are happy because we did and left our whole lives on the court”.

"He hit the team, as we have been playing we had many occasions but with 2-1, but his goal fell”.

"Football is like that (for the defeat), but I think the team did everything they could and in the end football is like that”.
