Ghana international Jordan Ayew has reacted to Crystal Palace defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.
Ayew lasted the entire duration as his side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Foxes at away.
Despite failing to score, the 31-year-old won a penalty in the game but Wilfred Zaha unfortunately blew it away.
Reacting to the defeat, Ayew has highlighted on his side’s poor first half display.
“We didn’t start the game well,” Ayew explained to Premier League Productions after the full-time whistle.
“It was all about the first half and we needed a better half than that. We paid the price and conceded two goals. In the second half, we were a better team. We pushed and managed to come back. But it’s a wake-up call for us and we know it’s important for us to have a good start and build on it. The most important thing is that it happened now and not against Chelsea, so now we have one week to prepare and we’ll do our best to do better in that game.”
“It shows we need to be consistent and we need to work on it,” he added. “We’ve come to the end of a good run. The most important thing is that it happened today and not next week though so we can build on this. It’s going to be very important to have a good start in that game.
