Czech Republic club MFK Karviná has signed Ghanaian striker Kelvin Owusu Boateng on loan from Spartak Trnava till the end of the season.

The attacker, who is very skilled and quick-footed, will undoubtedly be useful to coach Tomáš Hejdušek in the upcoming season. Additionally, as he has been working in Slovakia since the previous summer, acclimation shouldn't be an issue for him. Prior to it, when he was eighteen years old, he began playing in Portugal.

"Kelvin should help us offensively. In Trnava, he would probably not have enough playing time in the spring. That's why I'm glad that a player who came through a club like FC Porto will be wearing our jersey," said the sporting director of MFK Karviná Lubomír Vlk.

The Ghanaian striker moved to the Iberian Peninsula from Ghana to specifically join the Portuguese club CD Aves. There he started in the youth team, and later played for the U23 team, for which he scored twelve goals in the 2019/2020 season.

This also helped him to get his first start in the highest competition for the club from the north of Portugal. This was followed by a loan at one of the most successful clubs in the country, he spent the entire season at FC Porto. There he started for the B-team in the second league.

Since the summer of 2021, Kelvin Boateng played for Spartak Trnava. Last season he scored four times, in the current season he scored once.
